YMCA
SALE-LEASEBACK
During the summer of 2021, we represented the buyer-landlord in the sale-leaseback of a YMCA
facility in Des Moines, Iowa. The successful closing of this transaction is helping the YMCA of
Greater Des Moines continue its 150-year charitable history of providing recreation, housing,
meals, education and scholarships to the community.
WALGREENS
SALE-LEASEBACK
In February 2020, we represented the buyer-landlord in the sale-leaseback of 21 Walgreens stores in 12 states. We also represented the buyer-landlord in a post-exchange financing of the transaction, which closed on March 20, 2020 using mostly electronic recording – one day after the State of California shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As an essential business, Walgreens never closed during the pandemic, and its long-term leaseback of these properties will enable it to continue to provide pharmacy and other health care services at these locations for many years to come.
